This Manifesto is meant to serve as:

1) a searing critique of the current extractive, capitalist, white supremacist, colonialist global economy, and

2) an actionable agenda to leverage the Wealth Defense Industry for social change and systems transformation toward collective liberation. 

Preamble

We are WealthHackers at various intersections of the Wealth Defense Industry, and we unite in an era when economic disparity reaches unprecedented levels, facism is on the rise and racial, gender, and climate polycrises intersect to fuel resource and labour extraction, scarcity and global disaster capitalism. We believe, in the face of this reality, that it is imperative to confront the cultural practices and structural mechanisms which perpetuate this inequality if we are to build a just and equitable world to come. 

We know that the Wealth Defense Industry — an intricate and insidious web of legal, financial, and corporate power structures — serves to entrench the power and privilege of a few at the expense of the many. This manifesto calls for a collective awakening and mobilisation of those in positions of power to convert from “gatekeepers” to “gateways” and work to dismantle these systems, to redistribute wealth and power, and to move in deep alignment with global social movements.

Objectives

Collective Action

Organise those of us lurking in the shadows and corners of this transformative work to build collective power together (i.e. gathering financial advisors, tax accountants, attorneys/solicitors, etc.) and find community among our fellow WealthHackers. 

Disrupt the Space

Bring forth coordinated approaches to cultural, narrative and infrastructural interventions for collective paradigm shifts.

Expose Vulnerabilities

Use strategic, non-violent means to disrupt the operations of the wealth defence industry (i.e. financial activism, legal action, public campaigns, etc.)

Advocate for Change

Develop targeted, coordinated and comprehensive policy reforms that dismantle the infrastructure supporting the wealth defence industry (i.e. progressive taxation, wealth accumulation caps, stronger regulations on financial institutions, international cooperation to combat tax evasion, etc.)

Empower Global Social Movements

Support global grassroots social movements in deep solidarity by developing relationships, co-developing strategies across sectors, and bridging finance and movement while co- building tools and communities of practice.  

Strategies

• Experiment, develop, pilot and prototype hacks across sectors 

• Build global and translocal communities of practice and practitioners

• Pool collective time, energy and resources across specialisations

• Gather regularly to deepen relationships and develop shared tools, language and learning
